Director of Operations and Strategic Projects, Full-time, Remote

PharmStars is seeking a highly organized, strategic, detail-oriented Director of Operations and Strategic Projects. The Director will be operationally focused, able to administer all aspects of new and existing programs, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be a proactive planner and problem solver, able to build and execute new projects. As a key member of our team, this person will work closely with the CEO on new and ongoing strategic projects in our fast-paced, innovation-oriented environment, working with digital health startups and pharma companies. This is a full-time, virtual position, with 4-6 in-person meetings per year.

Responsibilities

Operations and Program Management:

Oversee all operational aspects of the startup accelerator program, including:

  • Startup Selection: Manage application reviews and the onboarding of accepted startups.
  • PharmaU Execution:
    • Assist in facilitating weekly logistics of educational sessions for startups.
    • Assist in the preparation of program materials and presentations.
    • Coordinate startup mentoring program, including scheduling workshops, meetings, and panels.
    • Maintain updated syllabus and manage all aspects of online learning platform.
  • Communications:
    • Manage communication for both accelerator and fund, including interaction with startups, mentors, pharma members, investors, sponsors, and ecosystem partners.
    • Manage incoming inquiries.
  • Event Planning: Plan, coordinate, and execute four in-person events annually.
  • Data Management: Collaborate with team to manage startup data for accelerator and the fund portfolio, ensuring it is organized and up to date.

Strategy:

  • Manage accelerator partners and sponsorship program.
  • Identify and implement continuous enhancements to scale accelerator operations, support startups, and drive pharma engagement.
  • Work closely with the CEO to organize the development of new programs and content for startups, pharma members, and others.
  • Support business development, outreach, and tactical execution of new programs.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in an administrative or operations role, preferably in a startup, accelerator, and/or healthcare setting.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Technical fluency, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Notion.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a highly collaborative team.
  • Experience with event planning and coordination is beneficial but not required but required.
